Celta Fortuna continues to make progress in its preparations for its historic debut in LaLiga Hypermotion. On Galicia Day, the Celta youth team drew against CD Lugo at the Municipal de Pol stadium in an attractive and competitive match that left a positive impression in the second friendly of the 26/27 preseason.
The match had two clearly distinct halves, with Fredi Álvarez opting for two completely different starting lineups. Álvaro Marín found the net in the first quarter of an hour with a powerful, low, driven shot across goal, an advantage that the Celta side managed to maintain until halftime in a first half characterized by its pace and good spells of play.
After the break, rotations increased, and Fortuna continued to give playing time to several of its youth players. The match maintained possession, with both teams looking to attack, and in the final stages, Teofilovic equalized from the penalty spot, making it 1-1, which would be the final score.
Fredi Álvarez’s players continue to accumulate playing time in a very demanding preseason, which has only just begun, and they already have their next opponent set. SCU Torreense, the team that will compete in the UEFA Europa League after winning the Taça de Portugal, will visit the Celta Vigo reserve team next Wednesday, July 29th at 7:00 PM.
