Altay Bayindir, the new wall between the sticks for the Celestes

RC Celta

Celta and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the loan of Altay Bayindir with an option to buy.

Developed through the youth academies of Bursaspor and Ankaragücü, Bayindir made his professional debut with the latter before establishing himself during four seasons at Fenerbahçe, where he became one of the most recognised goalkeepers in Istanbul and went on to wear the captain’s armband.

In 2023, he made the move to Manchester United, becoming the first Turkish footballer in the history of the English club. There, he has accumulated more than 1,500 minutes and continued to gain top-level experience, both in domestic and European competitions.

The full Turkish international will now travel directly to Italy to join Celta’s pre-season training camp, where Claudio Giráldez’s team will play friendly matches against Sassuolo and Napoli.

Celta welcomes him and trusts that he will continue to provide security between the posts, an imposing physical presence and his ability to dominate aerial play during this new chapter in the Celeste shirt.

Welcome, Bayindir!
