Celta Fortuna wrote another chapter in its history with a high-caliber debut in LaLiga Hypermotion, earning its first point of the season. For the first time, the Celta reserve team played in the second division, and they did so in a high-level setting, the Nuevo Mirandilla stadium, against a very demanding Cádiz side. The debut ended in a goalless draw, but it feels like the first step on an exciting journey.
Fortuna struggled to get into the game. Cádiz pressed, dominated, and controlled the match during the first half, forcing Fredi Álvarez’s men to gradually grow into the game. Despite the initial onslaught from the Cádiz team, the Celta side managed to withstand the pressure and solidify their defense.
After the break, the transformation began. Celta Fortuna gained control, saw more of the ball, and started playing with the personality that has brought them this far. The debutants shook off their nerves and became a difficult opponent, even creating the clearest scoring opportunities. Ángel Arcos had a chance to make it 0-1, but Ezkieta responded with a great save. Quique Ribes also came close to scoring with a header from a set piece.
Talento Feito na Madroa is now competing in the second division, and what a start it has been. With a long journey ahead, Fredi Álvarez’s team is already focused on their next match, against FC Andorra, which they will face next Monday, August 24th at 7:00 PM at Abanca Balaídos.
