Celta reinforces its commitment to protection and safety by joining LALIGA’s Violet Protocol and Guide

RC Celta
The Vigo-based club, one of the pioneers in Spain in implementing its own protocol for addressing situations of harassment and violence, joins this initiative to strengthen prevention and coordinated responses in stadiums

Celta continues to make progress in its commitment to the protection, safety and well-being of everyone who forms part of its community. In this regard, the club is joining the rollout of the Violet Protocol and Guide, promoted by LALIGA, an initiative aimed at strengthening prevention and responses to situations involving discrimination, gender-based violence, sexual violence and harassment in stadiums.

This commitment builds on a line of work that Celta began years ago. The club already had its own protocol for responding to these types of situations and was one of the pioneers in Spain in implementing a specific procedure to ensure an appropriate response and protect potential victims.

Joining the Violet Protocol and Guide therefore does not mark the beginning of this commitment, but rather provides an opportunity to continue developing it, share tools and work in a coordinated manner with LALIGA and the other clubs.

Prevention, training and coordinated action

The Violet Protocol and Guide establishes common guidelines to identify potential risk situations, facilitate communication and activate the necessary response mechanisms. Its rollout includes, among other measures, training for the professionals involved, practical drills and the introduction of resources to identify those responsible for protection and facilitate assistance at ABANCA Balaídos Stadium.

Celta will work alongside LALIGA to implement these measures, strengthening professional training and coordination among the various stakeholders involved in responding to potential cases of harassment or violence. The aim is to ensure an appropriate, effective response focused on protecting those affected.
