Celta and Vigo City Council formally finalized the administrative concession of ABANCA Balaídos this Sunday in a ceremony held at the stadium itself, ahead of the Celta-Málaga match, corresponding to the fifth matchday of LALIGA EA Sports.
Celta president Marián Mouriño and Vigo mayor Abel Caballero marked the signing of the agreement, which establishes a 50-year concession, extendable to a maximum of 75 years.
As a memento of this historic day, Marián Mouriño presented the mayor of Vigo with an exclusive scale model of the stadium, symbolizing the close ties between the venue, Celta and the city.
The formalization of the agreement represents a historic milestone for ABANCA Balaídos, a venue that is an inseparable part of Celta’s history and Vigo’s identity, and which now embarks on a new chapter with the ambition of becoming a sporting, social and leisure hub.
