RC Celta begins a new chapter in its history with a renewed board of directors. The club’s General Shareholders’ Meeting this Tuesday approved the appointment of the board members proposed by Marián Mouriño, the acting president and delegated councilor of the Celeste entity.
The new board of directors consists of a total of seven members, among whom a greater number of independent councilors stand out. These are professional profiles, entrepreneurs, and athletes with a long career in their fields, who will bring their experience and vision to strengthen the corporate governance of RC Celta.
The purpose of this new board of directors is to accompany the club in its transition phase towards a new era, strengthening its historical and identity roots, promoting its professionalization, placing football at the center, connecting with fans, and ensuring a healthy economic situation.
In addition to the delegated councilor Marián Mouriño, the members of the new board are:
- Sergio Álvarez, former Celeste goalkeeper and co-founder of the Sergio Álvarez Goalkeeper School, of the Celta Foundation.
- Antón Álvarez, Senior Advisor at Evercom, a creative marketing and communication agency, Transcendent, a strategic sustainability and impact consultancy, and Unlimited Spain, an impact startup accelerator.
- Carmela Cuevas, responsible for Commercial Management Control at Zara – Inditex and Business Angel at Velca.
- José Manuel Amoedo, founding partner of the law firm Amoedo & Lago Avogados and titular partner in Pontevedra of the collective office Eurix Avogados AIE.
- José Álvarez, founding partner and CEO of Grupo Femxa Formación e Emprego and founding partner of Ideaspropias Editorial, Ideaspropias Publicidade, Activa Formación, Adquiro Servizos Integrados, Nred Solucións Formativas, Femxa Formación, Green Venture Labs, Apunto 21, Learning and Support Services, FollowUP & Control, Green Smart Ventures.
- Xisela Aranda, former footballer and former Spanish and Galician squash champion.
- Miguel Álvarez, Managing Partner of Marcapital Ventures, a company that invests in technological startups in finance, food, electric mobility, and sports, founding partner and administrator of Norfood, S.L., investor, advisor, interim manager, and mentor in ten startups, advisor, member of the Management Committee and responsible for Strategy at BMC Estudo & Contract.
The new board of directors will address the appointment of Marián Mouriño as president of RC Celta, currently in the role in an acting capacity, at its first meeting.
