RC Celta came close to finishing a dream second half of the season. The sky blues played a good match against Real Betis, against whom they held a 2-0 lead thanks to goals by Iago Aspas, from a penalty, and Brais Méndez. Betis, who were playing for a place in the European competition, were able to react to the sky blues’ blows and came from behind through Borja Iglesias, Fekir and Víctor Ruiz.
The defeat did not dampen the return of the sky blue fans to Abanca Balaídos. With limited capacity, but with the same strength as always, the Celtic fans pushed their team from start to finish and sent them off with a well-deserved standing ovation. In addition to the return of celtismo part of their home, their stadium, the other positive note was the confirmation of Iago Aspas as the top assistant of LaLiga 2020/21. The player from Moaña set up the goal for Brais Méndez to raise his personal assist tally to thirteen. A new spectacular campaign of the sky blue striker.
