Celta will be represented this summer at the biggest event in world football. Borja Iglesias has been called up by the Spanish National Team to compete in the 2026 World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. National team coach Luis de la Fuente has included the Celta striker in the final squad of 26 players who will represent Spain in the tournament.
The Santiago de Compostela-born forward thus caps off an outstanding season, having been a key figure in Claudio Giráldez’s system and one of the standout names of the campaign. His consistency, commitment, and performanceshave made Borja a regular in the senior national team squads over the past few months.
This will also be Borja Iglesias’ first-ever World Cup appearance, a recognition of the excellent work he has done both at Celta and with the national team.
Congratulations, Borja, and best of luck at the World Cup!
