Celta Vigo kicks off its 2026/27 preseason with the start of medical examinations at the Celta Clinic at A Sede between July 7th and 9th. Once these tests are completed, the team will hold its first training session on Friday, July 10th, at 10:30 AM at the Cidade Deportiva Afouteza.
The players called up for the start of preseason are: Hugo Sotelo, Iván Villar, Sergio Carreira, Pablo Durán, Iago Aspas, Hugo Álvarez, Yoel Lago, Miguel Román, Álvaro Núñez, Manu Fernández, Carlos Domínguez, Williot Swedberg, Ilaix Moriba, Javi Rueda, Ferran Jutglà, Matías Vecino, and Andrei Radu.
Players who have recently finished their international commitments will join the team in stages. Javi Rodríguez and Jones El-Abdellaoui will join the group next Monday, while Carl Starfelt and Borja Iglesias, the latter still playing, will join in the coming weeks.
New signings Aleix Febas and Javi Galán will also be integrated into the team’s training, along with returning players Unai Núñez, Carles Pérez, and Manu Sánchez.
With the start of preseason training, a new season begins for Celta Vigo, who already have several preseason matches scheduled. The first friendly will be on July 18 against SC Braga at the Braga Municipal Stadium. Celta will then face Sporting Gijón on July 25 at A Lomba (Vilagarcía de Arousa) and, on August 5, will visit US Sassuolo at the Ricci Stadium (Italy).
