RC Celta gets a point against Deportivo Alavés at Abanca Balaídos (1-1)

RC Celta

RC Celta gets a first point at Abanca Balaídos after drawing against Deportivo Alavés in this seventh round of La Liga EA Sports. A complicated match, in which both teams were looking for a victory that would make them move up positions in the standings, and in which the celestes finished with one player less on the field.

At the beginning of the first half, RC Celta found a well-placed rival who did not intend to make things easy for them. However, in the 35th minute, Luis García’s team made a blunder to the delight of the sky-blue team. Alavés center back, Rafa Marín, made a mistake giving the ball to the visiting team’s goalkeeper. A powerful ball that Antonio Sivera did not expect and, unable to stop, materialized in the first goal for the Celestes.

Faced with adversity, Deportivo Alavés looked for the goal that would make them reach halftime with a draw on the scoreboard, but the good interventions of Iván Villar frustrated their plans.

The second half continued to be marked by pressure from the Basque side, but Rafa Benítez’s men managed to keep the result in their favor. However, the ejection of Luca de la Torre in the 68th minute, after seeing the second yellow card, unbalanced the match, causing even more damage to the Vigo team with the pressure exerted by Alavés. Thus, in the 73rd minute came the equalizer for the visitors.

Intense end in Abanca Balaídos, in which Rafa Benítez’s team managed to keep the result and get the first point at home in front of an exemplary crowd that accompanied the team until the final minute.

After this match, Celta has a day of reflection and self-criticism ahead, to focus on the successes and learn from the mistakes of today’s performance, to prepare for the next match which will be on Monday, October 2 against UD Las Palmas at the Gran Canaria Stadium at 21:00 h.
