RC Celta has secured its first point of the season in La Liga EA Sports after drawing against Real Sociedad in their visit to Reale Arena.
Rafa Benítez’s team had several approaches to the Donostia area during the first half, with chances like Hugo Sotelo’s in the 10th minute, which hit the post. However, it was the hosts who took the lead with a goal from Berrenetxea in the 22nd minute. Thus, with the game in their favor, Imanol Alguacil’s team managed to maintain the advantage until halftime.
With the start of the second half, the Celeste team entered the field with a changed setup, substituting Aidoo for Sotelo. Their goal was clear: to seek the equalizer. Celta worked hard and searched tirelessly, but it would be in injury time, in the 94th minute, when the long-awaited goal came from the boots of Mingueza, giving the Celeste their first point of the season.
RC Celta, now returning to Vigo, will start preparing for their next match, which will be against Real Madrid on Friday, August 25th, at 21:30 at Abanca Balaídos. The first match of RC Celta in its 100 years of existence.
