Celta and Cádiz CF have reached an agreement for the loan of Damián Rodríguez for the 2026/27 season. The midfielder will thus face a new sporting challenge at the Nuevo Mirandilla stadium, where he will continue his development after a loan spell at Racing Santander during the second half of last season.
Having come through the entire Celta youth academy, A Madroa, Damián has progressed through every level of the club’s youth system to earn a place in the first team. His journey has been marked by perseverance and hard work, resulting in 29 official appearances for Celta across LaLiga, the Copa del Rey, and the UEFA Europa League. Now, he will continue to gain experience in the demanding LaLiga Hypermotion.
Fate has also decreed that his debut in a Cádiz CF shirt will have a very special significance. Damián will face Celta Fortuna in the first official match of the season, a game that will mark the historic debut of the Celta youth team in the Second Division.
