First recognition for sky blue central defender Joseph Aidoo. The defender won the Estrella Galicia Award for the best player of January after receiving more votes from the fans than the other two finalists. This is his first award as an RC Celta player.
The central defender offered an outstanding performance in a month in which the team from Vigo lost by the minimum against Real Sociedad, beat Osasuna at Abanca Balaídos by two goals to zero and obtained a deserved draw against Sevilla at the Sánchez Pizjuán.
Aidoo expressed his satisfaction for this recognition: “I am very happy, it is very important for me, it gives me a lot of confidence”. After highlighting that the award is also due to the performance of each of his teammates, he indicated that “I am satisfied with my game and, of course, with the team’s”.
