RC Celta did not deserve to lose in Villarreal. It was not the best match, but the sky blues offered an even first half and came close to a draw until the last moment of the second half against a Champions League rival. Iago Aspas stood out in the match, leading the construction of the sky blue game and setting up his teammates on several occasions that did not come to fruition.
After the break, the Vigo team came out like a gale and seemed to grow, going from less to more. It was just in the sweetest moment of Coudet’s team when Villarreal took the lead thanks to a goal by Parejo. The yellow goal knocked out RC Celta, who did not manage to recover until the final stretch of the match.
In the final moments of the match, Iago Aspas and Santi Mina both had chances to make it 1-1. The good work of Rulli and his defense prevented the Celticos from returning from La Cerámica with a point in their pockets.
