Matías Dituro received the Estrella Galicia Player of the Month award at the Cidade Deportiva Afouteza for his decisive performances in his debut in the Spanish League. The RC Celta goalkeeper received more votes than the other two players who reached the final phase of the competition, Santi Mina and Iago Aspas. This season, the fans nominate with their votes three players from the entire squad for the final and in a last vote they choose the best player of the month. The Argentine goalkeeper saved three of the four penalties he was awarded in the first six days of La Liga and made saves of great merit.
Dituro expressed his satisfaction for this recognition from Estrella Galicia and the sky blue fans: “I’m very happy, I work to contribute to the team when it needs it”. He added that “I am happy, happy at the club, happy on a day-to-day basis and hopefully we can continue to grow as a team and start climbing the ladder”.
“I am very grateful to all the people who have voted and chosen me, hopefully things will continue to go well and we can continue to have joy together,” added the sky blue goalkeeper, who recalled that “I worked hard during all this time and I felt ready to face this challenge. I came with great enthusiasm, eager to work and to contribute to the team”.
