RC Celta could not win against Valencia CF in their visit to Mestalla. An even duel during the first minutes that started to get complicated for the Celestes with Samu Castillejo’s goal in the ’37.
Coudet’s team went to the break trailing by the minimum, but came out of the dressing room ready to eat the field in the next 45 minutes. They did not give up, but a tackle by Cervi on Thierry Rendall, in the 59th minute, condemned the visitors to be down to one man in a tough end for the Vigo side.
In the final stretch, Marcos André and André Almeida would be the ones in charge of sealing the match with goals in the ’82 and ’94 minutes respectively.
RC Celta now faces a national team break before its next match, next Sunday, October 2 (16:15h) against Real Betis Balompié at Abanca Balaídos.
