Celta Fortuna now knows what it’s like to win away from home in the Second Division. And they did it by achieving something more important than just three points at the Alfonso Murube stadium. They did it leaving the impression that this team is ready to compete and thrive in this league.
From the first minute, the Celta reserve team wanted to take control. Playing without hesitation, they pushed forward, moved the ball intelligently, and took the game to Ceuta’s half. Fredi Álvarez’s side found space, won duels, and converted their talent into chances until Adrià Capdevila finally broke the deadlock after an excellent first half.
Then came the struggle. Ceuta pressed hard, flooded the area, and forced Fortuna to defend with grit. The team grew stronger in this period. They held firm, maintained their composure, and waited for their moment until Bernard Somuah, in stoppage time, sealed a hard-fought and exciting victory.
And among the many positive developments, Mateo Sobral made an appearance in the starting eleven. A youngster in midfield, making his debut in the second division and demonstrating that the Feito na Madroa youth academy has a bright future ahead.
Seven points out of twelve. A first away win. And, above all, a team that is starting to believe in what it can do. The next match will be at home, at Abanca Balaídos, on Monday, September 14th at 8:30 pm against Eibar.
