Homegrown player Javi Rodríguez extends his contract with RC Celta until 2028. The player, who has played a major role in the first team, reaffirms his commitment to the club that saw him grow for four more seasons.
A native of Poio, Javi Rodríguez arrived at A Madroa in the Benjamín B category and since then has climbed through the youth ranks to become an important player for the team coached by Claudio Giráldez.
His quality, his ball control and the defensive bravery that characterizes him have led him to establish himself firmly in the first team dynamic. With more than 4,400 minutes defending the Celtic shirt, 6 goals and 2 assists, Javi made his debut with RC Celta on November 1, 2023 in the victory against Turégano CF in Copa del Rey.
With sky blue heart and blood, Javi Rodríguez’s career was spent entirely in the sports facilities of A Madroa, where the defender arrived at the age of just 7 years old. That boy who, full of illusion, fantasized about becoming a footballer saw his dream come true at the Celeste club. Fourteen years of work, effort and dedication led him to make his debut in LALIGA EA SPORTS on the first matchday of the 24/25 season against Deportivo Alavés at Abanca Balaídos. Since then, Javi Rodríguez has been participating every weekend in the highest category of Spanish soccer and has been noted for the effectiveness of his passes, making him one of the main revelations of the season.
RC Celta wishes to congratulate the young player and thus reaffirm its full confidence in grassroots soccer and in the values it promotes.
Congratulations, Javi!
