RC Celta continues its strong commitment to the youth team and renews one of its own: Manu Fernández will remain linked to the club for the next three seasons.
The young player from Narón will join RC Celta’s first team pre-season after being a key player this season at Celta Fortuna where he played a total of 32 games, starting 24 of them, and scoring a goal in the first match against Barakaldo CF.
Manu Fernández, who joined the club in 2016, is a very complete defender who stands out for his versatility, his good ball control and his personality on the pitch. His conversion from midfielder to central defender has allowed him to take another step forward in his evolution and achieve a remarkable performance, becoming a player capable of adapting to different playing situations, always competitive and who has a very special feeling for this shield.
His history at RC Celta goes far beyond the field of play. The young academy player is the third generation of a family that carries the Celta shield in their hearts. His grandfather, Manuel Fernández Amado, played at Abanca Balaídos between 1971 and 1975, and his father, Manel Fernández Anidos, also played in the reserve team and even made his debut in the Copa del Rey with the first team. Now it is Manu who continues that legacy and does so with hard work, humility and commitment.
