Celta Fortuna rounded off pre-season with another victory, this time a 2-0 win over UD Ourense. In an open-door afternoon at Campo Municipal de Barreiro, just hours after the morning victory against Coruxo FC at Afouteza, goals from Mateo Sobral and Álvaro Marín put the finishing touch to a perfect day for the Celta reserve side, who head into the start of their Segunda División campaign with plenty of positive signs.
The match got underway with Fortuna taking control of proceedings against a well-organised opponent who rarely threatened Marcos González’s goal. The first clear chance came in the 26th minute, when Álvaro Marín broke through on his own but sent his effort just wide. The breakthrough would not take long to arrive, however, as Mateo Sobral made it 1-0 ten minutes later, sending the Celestes into half-time with the lead.
After the break, Fortuna grew into the game and created more and more chances in and around the visitors’ penalty area. Gavián, Milla and Capdevila all came close in the opening stages, although the second goal would have to wait. Álvaro Marín eventually got it in the 72nd minute following a fine run from Joel López and a great combination with Kibet inside the box. With the advantage doubled, the substitutions refreshed the team in the final stages, with the visiting goalkeeper preventing a wider margin with two excellent saves to deny Jorge Pérez-Lafuente and Ángel Arcos.
The victory completes a double-header of pre-season friendlies and brings a very positive pre-season campaign to a close for Celta Fortuna, with the following results:
