Celta Vigo will pay tribute to Borja Iglesias this afternoon before the match against Osasuna, the first game of the season at Abanca Balaídos.
“El Panda” returns home as a World Cup champion with the Spanish national team, a historic milestone that makes him the first Celta player and the first Galician footballer to win the World Cup. This achievement certainly deserves the recognition and a standing ovation from all Celta fans.
The Celta striker will take to the pitch wearing his World Cup medal to share this moment with the sky-blue supporters. The club will also present him with a commemorative plaque, which will be given to him by Sergio Álvarez, a Celta board member.
Following this, Borja will perform the ceremonial kickoff for the Celta Vigo-Osasuna match, a game he will be unable to play in due to the injury he suffered a few days ago.
A World Cup champion returns home to give us a moment for the history books at Celta.
One of us.
Congratulations, Borja!
