RC Celta finishes the year, and the first part of this season 24/25, with a total of 18 sky blue players with international assignments. There were three FIFA breaks that took place during the months of September, October and November, in which these were the players of RC Celta called up with their different national teams:
FIFA BREAK IN SEPTEMBER
In the first break of the season, the Spanish coach, Luís de la Fuente, included the Celta player, Óscar Mingueza, in the list of the Spanish National Team to play the matches corresponding to the group stage of the Nations League against Serbia and Switzerland. In addition, Damián Rodríguez, was included in the call-up list of the U-21 to play in the qualifying phase for the European Championship in Slovakia in 2025.
In addition, in this first break of the season, the first team players fulfilled their international commitments: Tasos Douvikas (Greece), Carl Starfelt (Sweden), Luca da Torre (USA) and Ilaix Moriba (Guinea). On the other hand, the youth players were called up to the Spanish National Team: Hugo Chamadoira (U-15), Iago Barreiros (U-17), Andrés Antañón (U-18) and Óscar Marcos (U-19). To which are added the call-ups of: Ianis Târbă (Romania U-19) and Emi Rodríguez (Mexico U-23).
FIFA BREAK IN OCTOBER
In October, Hugo Álvarez was called up for the first time with the Spanish U-21 National Team to play in the qualifiers for the Slovakia UEFA Euro 2025 against Kazajistán and Malta. Óscar Mingueza, Tasos Douvikas and Williot Swedberg, the latter travelling with the Swedish U-21 national team, were also called up.
From the youth teams highlight the first call-up of David Sueiro with the U-15 Spanish National Team, who joined the already international players: Iago Barreiros, Hugo Chamadoira, Andrés Antañón, Óscar Marcos, Ianis Târbă and Emi Rodríguez.
On the other hand, Camila Pescatore, player of the first team of As Celtas, was called up with the Vinotinto Feminina, Venezuela’s national team, to play against Thailand and Mexico.
NOVEMBER FIFA BREAK
Hugo Sotelo received his first international call-up to join the Spanish U-21 National Team under the command of Santi Denia in the friendly against England, on Friday at 18:30h, and against Denmark, on Tuesday at 20:45h.
A call-up to which are added the international commitments of:
Óscar Mingueza who will play the last rounds of the Qualifying Phase of the Nations League against Denmark, on Friday at 20:45h, and against Switzerland, on Tuesday at 20:45h.
Tasos Douvikas will play against England this Thursday at 20:45h and against Finland on Sunday at 18:00h.
Carl Starfelt will play against Slovakia, on Saturday at 20:45h, and against Acerbaiyán, on Tuesday at 20:45h.
From the youth team, Óscar Marcos adds a new call-up to the Spanish U-19 National Team that will play the qualifying mini-tournament for the European Championship in Pristina. The national team played its first match against the Faroe Islands and will face Kosovo, on Saturday at 15:00h, and Austria, next Tuesday at 12:00h.
On the other hand, Ianis Târbă will face Romania with his national team, tomorrow at 15:00h, Portugal, on Saturday at 12:00h, and Poland on Tuesday at 11:00h.
Numbers that highlight the quality of the players of the first Celta team and underline the skills of the youth teams. Something that RC Celta cannot be more proud of.
