RC Celta’s incomplete victory over Espanyol (2-2), who reacted in the last minutes of the match.
Eduardo Coudet’s team opened the 22/23 season in front of a dedicated Abanca Balaídos that was soon rewarded. On the stroke of half-time, Iago Aspas, the usual player, put RC Celta ahead in front of a sleepy Espanyol defense.
At the start of the second half, the game continued to be tinged with sky blue and it seemed impossible for the victory to escape. Gonçalo Paciência increased the gap with a goal in the 62′ of the match. And, if there is something better than scoring, it is to do it on debut and at home.
A 2-0 lead that Diego Martínez’s men equalized shortly after thanks to Edu Expósito (in 69′) and Joselu (in 97′ from the 11th minute).
There was no time for a comeback, but there was time to get to know many of the new faces of the season. Agustín Marchesín, Unai Núnez, Carles Pérez and the double of Óscars, Rodríguez and Mingueza, were officially presented in La Liga Santander, and in front of the fans, as new players of the Vigo club.
