Celta and Marco Garcés have reached an agreement to extend the Director of Football’s contract until June 2030, thus reinforcing their commitment to an ambitious and rapidly expanding sporting project based on a methodology that is transforming all levels of the club’s football system.
Since his arrival, Garcés has placed the youth academy (A Canteira) at the heart of the club’s sporting planning, driving a profound reorganization of the Sporting Department with the aim of strengthening the internal structure, accelerating processes, and optimizing the overall performance of the organization. This work dynamic, based on coordination between different departments, has allowed for remarkable progress in just two seasons, fostering the development of talent at all levels.
Thanks to this accelerated progress, several players developed at A Canteira have made their debuts in the top tier of Spanish football, while numerous youth players have moved up to Celta Fortuna, increasing the competitiveness and performance of the talent that has naturally progressed through the different stages of the club’s development structure.
