RC Celta

Celta was present this Tuesday at the launch event of the Red de Ciudades LALIGA, an initiative promoted by LALIGA and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) aimed at promoting joint actions against violence, racism, and any form of discrimination in sport.

The sky-blue club attended on behalf of LALIGA entities, with the participation of its advisor Antón Álvarez, highlighting “Celta’s commitment to defending the values of respect, equality, and inclusion both on and off the football pitch.”

During the presentation, held at the FEMP headquarters, its president, María José García-Pelayo, stressed the need to promote a firm response to hate speech, emphasizing the role of sport as a tool for social cohesion. Along the same lines, LALIGA president Javier Tebas described this alliance as a decisive step to coordinate efforts and move towards safer and more respectful sporting environments.

The event also featured a speech by the President of the Senate, Pedro Rollán, who appealed to the transformative capacity of institutions and citizens to eradicate inappropriate behavior and promote a sporting culture based on respect.

This network is created with the aim of fostering collaboration between local administrations, public bodies, and professional football, bringing together 36 cities linked to clubs from LALIGA EA SPORTS and LALIGA HYPERMOTION. FEMP also joins as the representative entity of the participating municipalities.

With its participation in this event, Celta consolidates its active role in initiatives that promote a more inclusive sport aligned with the fundamental values of society.
