Celta Vigo’s UEFA Europa League journey comes to an end after falling in the quarterfinals to SC Freiburg. This concludes a European adventure marked by enthusiasm, the unwavering commitment of the entire team, and above all, the wonderful connection with a fanbase that was always by their side.
Returning to Europe was, in itself, a great achievement. It was a goal achieved throughout the past season thanks to the efforts of a group that never stopped believing. This edition of the Europa League allowed us to reap the rewards of that work and relive those nights that make football so special. Abanca Balaídos shone brighter than ever, the entire city rallied behind the team, and the Celta crest traveled to every corner of the continent.
Today this journey ends, but what remains is the pride of a talented team, Feito na Madroa, who have reminded us every day, in every match, that dreams are built through hard work, belief, and feeling them so deeply that no one can take them away. They, along with the rest of their teammates who have embraced the club’s values, have represented this club as it deserves, giving their all on the pitch, and never, ever, have been alone.
Because if anyone has defined this European adventure, it has been you. In every city, in every stadium, there was always a flag, a scarf, a sky-blue heart, or thousands of them… reminding us that behind this team is a great family. You have accompanied us throughout Europe and have made the entire squad feel the pride and responsibility of representing Celta. For all of this, Celta wants to thank you from the bottom of our hearts, because every trip, every gesture of support, and every bit of encouragement has been a fundamental part of this journey.
Today a chapter closes, but what we have experienced does not end here. Quite the opposite. The foundations remain stronger than ever, with a young, talented team whose roots will continue to grow at A Madroa and who represent the present and, above all, the future of this club. We will continue to look ahead, proud of what we have built and convinced that these pillars will support everything that is to come.
